The Healing Foundation Centre is supported by a wide range of analytical research facilities within the Faculty of Life Sciences.

  • Bioimaging Facility - Confocal microscopy, environmental control chambers, laser microdissection microscope and specialised light microscopy.
  • Biomolecular Analysis Facility - Protein purification and identification with subsequent investigation of their size, shape and interactions.
  • Botanical Experimental Grounds - Technical support and facilities for short and long term plant cultivation studies.
  • DNA Sequencing Facility - Load-only DNA sequence analysis and in-house sequencing reaction services.
  • Electron Microscopy Facility - TEM, SEM, STEM, environmental SEM, X-ray microanalysis.
  • Fermentation Facility - Bulk and analytical scale fermentation of microbial organisms and cell culture.
  • Flow Cytometry Facility - Fluorescence-activated cell sorting.
  • Histology Facility - Preparation and processing of tissues, sectioning and staining for microscopy.
  • Microarray Facility - PCR/liquid handling robot, spotting robot, laser scanning image acquisition systems.
  • NMR Facility - Two NMR spectrometers for structural and dynamic studies of biological molecules and intermolecular interactions.
  • X-Ray Crystallography Facility - Based on a Microfocus rotating anode generator, data processing facilities.
